Making a picture stop leaning

Every frame opens holding one to three flat masses, all leaning it one way, with one more shape waiting in the tray underneath. Press inside the frame where that shape belongs, drag to adjust, let go to place it. Four frames, then a score. Each frame ends with the answer drawn over your attempt: the balancing spot ringed, the gap dashed across to your shape, and the lever — a line from the pull of everything already in the picture, through the pivot at the centre, out to the answer.

Two things decide a shape's pull: its weight — area multiplied by how dark it reads against the paper — and its arm, the distance out from the frame's middle. Beginners count the weight and forget the arm, so the counterweight goes far too close to the middle and the picture keeps leaning; naming that habit is what the round-end line is for. Where the subject goes is a different question, one that cropping and thirds anchors answer; this is about what holds it up.

Balance is a moment sum, not a matter of taste

Take weight as area times darkness and the pivot as the middle of the frame, and the pulls of everything already there cancel at exactly one spot. The frame generator runs the same function the scorer uses, so the answer it validates is the answer it grades. No AI is involved: that spot is one line of algebra — the moments about the centre have to cancel — solved for where the missing shape must go. Your score is how far you landed from it, run against a zero-point set at 26% of the frame's width — a composition is judged in fractions of the picture, never in pixels of screen — with a floor in real pixels so a small sheet cannot turn hand tremor into the whole result. On a 600px sheet, 2% of the frame width out scores 92, 10% scores 62, 20% scores 23.
